About the Station

Damai LRT Station is an elevated rapid transit station in northern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, forming part of the Kelana Jaya Line. The Station was opened on 1 June 1999, as part of the line's second segment encompassing 13 stations between Masjid Jamek Station and Gombak Station and an underground line.

Damai LRT Station is located in the central core of Dato Keramat village, in east Kuala Lumpur, along the northern banks of the Klang River and the Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway, thus facing Jalan Dato Keramat to the north. The station is named after the enclosed Dato Keramat precinct of Damai, which encompasses the southern half of Dato Keramat south from the Klang River and is linked to the station via a pedestrian bridge crossing the river. The UTC Keramat and Keramat Mallis directly situated across the station from Jalan Dato Keramat, it is link with pedestrian link-way directly from the LRT Station.

The Station is one of three Kelana Jaya Line stations serving the Dato Keramat area, the other two consisting of Dato Keramat station and the Jelatek station towards Gombak. Damai is currently intended to serve the east side of Dato Keramat closely connected to Jalan Tun Razak to the east via adjoining Jalan Gurney and Jalan Semarak, and eastern Damai.

Damai LRT Station is the first above-ground station after Ampang Park Station towards Gombak.

A multi-storey car park with 1236 parking bay is available in this Station. Only Touch 'n Go cards were accepted for payment at the car park.

Platform Architecture

As an elevated station, Damai LRT Station contains two levels: The access points at street level, and the ticket area and adjoining platforms on the two elevated levels. All levels are linked via stairways, escalators and elevators designated for disabled passengers.

The Station uses a single island platform for trains travelling in both directions of the line, and is entirely sheltered by a gabled roof supported by latticed frames.
