About the Station
Merdeka MRT Station is situated near Menara Merdeka Maybank (formerly
known as Merdeka 118), the tallest building in Malaysia. The tower is
located beside Stadium Merdeka on Jalan Hang Jebat, Kuala Lumpur.
The station also provides convenient access to 118 Mall, a retail
destination located within the Merdeka 118 development.
This station is an interchange station with
Plaza Rakyat LRT station via a
180 meter with fully air conditioned paid-to-paid pedestrian walkway with travelator. It is also within walking distance to
Hang Tuah LRT and
Monorail
Station.

Entrances and Exit
The Merdeka station can be accessed via two main entrances (Entrance A and
Entrance B) located along Jalan Hang Jebat, as well as the paid-to-paid
walkway from the Plaza Rakyat LRT station via Entrance C. Entrance A is
located on the north side of Jalan Hang Jebat near the YWCA and Olympic
Hotel while Entrance B is located on the south side near Stadium Negara and
Menara Merdeka Maybank.
The station is located about 600 meters and is also within walking distance
of the Hang Tuah LRT and monorail station connected with the Bukit Bintang
City Centre (BBCC). Entrance D provides direct access to 118 Mall and
Menara Merdeka Maybank.

Menara Merdeka Maybank
A mega-scale development by PNB located near
heritage landmarks such as Stadium Merdeka and Stadium Negara, Menara Merdeka
Maybank (formerly known as Merdeka 118) has become the new Maybank headquarters
and a landmark of Kuala Lumpur. The tower is now the tallest building in
Malaysia and one of the most iconic structures in the city.
The building features 118 storeys of mixed-use space, including 83 storeys of
office space, 12 storeys of hotel rooms, 5 storeys of hotel residences, and an
observatory floor featuring the highest observation deck in Southeast Asia. It
includes two observation decks, with the first located inside the building and
the second situated within the spire. The development also features a retail
component, 118 Mall, offering shopping, dining, and lifestyle facilities for
visitors.
Within the vicinity is Stadium Merdeka, Stadium Negara, Chinese Primary School
Jalan Davidson, Confucian Private High School, Methodist Boys School, Victoria
Institution, Malaysian Basketball Association (MABA) and Grand Olympic Hotel.
Petaling Street (Chinatown) is also located few minutes walk from this station.
Located 500 m away is the Al-Bukhary Mosque which was built in 2007 to replace
the 147-year-old Surau Babul Jannah. It is located along Jalan Hang Tuah.
Merdeka MRT to Plaza Rakyat LRT | Walking Guide

Station by a fully covered pedestrian walkway. The interchange allows
passengers to transfer between the MRT
Kajang Line and the LRT
Ampang Line / Sri
Petaling Line without leaving the paid area.
