About the Station

Jelatek LRT Station is an elevated rapid transit station in northern Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, forming part of the Kelana Jaya Line. The Station was opened on 1 June 1999, as part of the line's second segment encompassing 13 stations between Masjid Jamek Station and Gombak Station and an underground line.

Jelatek LRT Station is situated in Kuala Lumpur, north from the commercial center of the city along Jalan Jelatek. The Station is also located on the border between Kuala Lumpur city limits and Ampang Jaya city limits in Selangor.

The Station takes its name from the road Jalan Jelatek, one of the most busiest branch road of Jalan Ampang, from which Jalan Jelatek meets at an intersection with Jalan Ampang. The station thus serves the localities of AU1, Semarak and Taman Keramat, as well as enclosed areas. Dato Keramat Sports Complex and Sekolah Rendah Agama Dato Keramat are both within walking distance to this Station.

Datum Jelatek Shopping Mall and Residence directly situated across the Station and it is linked with pedestrian link-way directly from the LRT Station.

With the available of car park bays, this Station is convenience for commuters who need to park-and-ride.

Platform Architecture

As an elevated station, Jelatek LRT Station contains two levels: The access points at street level, and the ticket area and adjoining platforms on the two elevated levels. All levels are linked via stairways, escalators and elevators designated for disabled passengers.

The station uses a 2 side platforms along two tracks for trains traveling in opposite direction and it is entirely sheltered by a gabled roof supported by latticed frames.
